Former Head of the department chemistry
Introduction
The Department of Chemistry was established in 2004 simultaneously with establishment of the university. From the very beginning both teaching and research remained very important in this department. In teaching, the classroom as well as laboratory teaching is given equal importance. The syllabi of various courses, offered by the department, are regularly updated. Both, the academic and industrial, researches are conducted in the department with the funding from government organizations.
The first head of the department was Assistant Prof. Ajmal Hashmi, after his Assist. Prof. Ziaulhaq Naeemzai and the current head is Assist. Prof. Inzer Gul Afghan.The department has six lecturers, all of whom have master's degrees. The Chemistry department has presented 350 graduates from year 2009 to year 2023 to serve the community. Apart from free service students, students are also studying in the in-service department.

Assist. Professor Inzer Gul Afghan, son of Haji Khan Shah, was born in Zurmat, Paktia, Afghanistan and his migration in 1991 to Haripur Pakistan. He completed his primary and secondary education up to class 12 in the same city. He also completed a two-year course in computer. He came back to Afghanistan in 2004.
He passed the entrance exam to the Chemistry and Biology department of Herat University's Faculty of Science in the year 2005 and graduated from the department with high marks in the year 2008. He was appointed as a lecturer in the Chemistry department of the Faculty of Education of Paktia University in 2012/12/30. He joined the Biochemistry department of the Faculty of Applied Sciences of Parul University, India in the 2017 for his master's program and graduated from the same department in 2019. Currently, he is performing its sacred duty as a lecturer and head of the Chemistry Department of Paktia University's Faculty of Education.
He has been a collaborator in all cultural affairs of the university and has published various scientific articles in Scientific magazines and journals.
