Introduction to Economics Faculty

Economics Faculty of Paktia University (with its BBA department) was founded in the year 2014. For the first time, students were introduced to the faculty through the Kankor Exam (University Entry Test) in 2014. Besides the BBA, Finance and Banking Department was also established in Economics Faculty in 2015.

Economics Faculty has (11 faculty members), on average, primarily trains 550 undergraduate students every year in its two departments. In addition to faculty members, Economics Faculty has Administrative Officer, Executive Officer and a Cleaner.

To provide students with practical works, Economics Faculty signed five coordinating partnerships with public and private institutions such as the Directorate of Public Finance, Customs Office, Azizi Bank, Chamber of Commerce and Jahan Private University.

Currently, Economics Faculty has 12 active committees under its umbrella to run its affairs smoothly. So far, 411 students including 14 females graduated from two departments of Economics Faculty in its last two years.

Vision

To provide quality services in the field of economics to the society that meets international standards and support socio-economic growth and development of the country. 

Mission

To train students at the undergraduate level in the way of modern economics and to conduct basic and applied research that move up the boundaries of the knowledge in the field.

 Objectives

  • Quality improvement of the teaching, training and research in the faculty in accordance with international norms.
  • Academic level improvement of faculty members.
  • Broadening and quality improvement of research activities.
  • Gradually applying English language as a medium of instruction.
  • Implementation and development of quality improvement and maintenance program.
