• Introduction
In the era we live in, it is the age of art, technique, and technology. Therefore, the use of technology is very valuable for institutions, most of which have fully understood that using information technology speeds up daily tasks and clients can benefit from many facilities. Universities also provide better, faster, more accurate, and higher quality services by using technology. Based on this, the Directorate of Information Technology at Paktia University has always strived to make maximum use of modern-era technology to facilitate service delivery at this university. This directorate was established in 2019 within the administrative deputy's organizational structure as the Information Technology Center (ITCP).

• Objectives
To effectively design programs, control and monitor hardware, software, and network server technical affairs, and to create and provide the necessary facilities and requirements of information technology according to national and international standards in a systematic manner at Paktia University.

• Vision
The Directorate of Information Technology is committed to its leadership role in strengthening national goals and the strategy of Paktia University by selecting useful and effective methods in the field of technological progress and innovations.

• Services

  1. Providing internet services for university professors, staff, and students.
  2. Recording and editing professors' educational video clips in the university studio.
  3. Controlling, monitoring, installing, and checking security cameras in the university.
  4. Resolving software issues for the technological devices of professors, staff, and students.
  5. Resolving hardware issues for the technological devices of all university faculties.
  6. Creating official email addresses for professors and staff using the university domain (pu.edu.af).
  7. Publishing news, announcements, seminars, professors' biographies, and all other necessary matters on the university website.
  8. Managing the university's HEMIS system affairs.
  9. Controlling the E-book system, which includes the Online E-Book Site.
  10. Providing educational services for university students in the classrooms and laboratories of the Directorate of Information Technology.
  11. Providing internal call services through the PBX system and the IMS system for university staff.

• Activities
Activities carried out in the current year (1403 Solar Hijri / 2024-2025 Gregorian):

  1. Contracting for electronic equipment to activate sound and LED systems for classrooms, and installing security cameras, computers, and projectors for faculties and departments.
  2. Establishing a video conferencing room in the Information Technology Center.
  3. WiFi filtering and internet bandwidth management.
